There is something truly special about those first days of life, and I have dedicated my career to nurturing both baby and parents through this delicate transition.

With over a decade of hands on experience, I provide refined 24-hour newborn care designed to bring calm, confidence, and ease into your home. My approach blends gentle, proven techniques with a warm, intuitive presence -ensuring your baby feels secure, while you feel fully supported.

What is a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS)?

A Newborn Care Specialist is a trained professional who focuses exclusively on the care and well-being of newborns during the first weeks and months of life. Unlike a nanny or babysitter, an NCS specializes in infant development, sleep shaping, feeding support, and establishing healthy routines.

Why would I need 24/7 care?

24/7 care provides continuous support for both parents and baby. It ensures:

1. Parents get uninterrupted rest and recovery

2. Consistent care across day and night

3. Faster establishment of routines for feeding and sleep

4. Immediate response to any newborn needs or concerns

This level of support is especially valuable for families with twins, preemies, first-time parents, or those without extended family nearby.

What does an NCS do during the day?

During the day, an NCS:

1. Manages feedings (bottle or breast support)

2. Teaches and supports parents with newborn care

3. Guides in setting up routines for naps and awake times

4. Tracks the baby’s development, feeds, and sleep patterns

5. Provides light household help related to the baby (laundry, bottles, pump parts, nursery organization)

What does an NCS do overnight?

At night, an NCS:

1. Handles feedings (or brings baby to mom for nursing, then settles the baby afterward)

2. Soothes the baby back to sleep

3. Monitors safe sleep practices

4. Keeps a detailed log of baby’s feedings, diapering, and sleep

5. Ensures parents are able to get restorative rest

How long do families usually hire an NCS?

Most families hire for the first 8–16 weeks, though some extend care for several months, especially with multiples or when returning to work.

Do NCS live with the family during 24/7 care?

Yes. For 24/7 coverage, your NCS will live in (or nearby) and provide continuous care with scheduled rest breaks. Housing arrangements, private space, and meals should be provided by the family.

How does scheduling work for 24/7 care?

Depending on your needs, care can be provided by:

1. One full-time NCS who lives in and provides continuous support with daily rest breaks.

2. A rotating team of NCS professionals to ensure 24/7 coverage without burnout.

We will discuss what works best for your family before beginning services.

What if I only need nights or flexible support?

Many families start with 24/7 care and then transition to nights-only, or flexible hours as confidence grows. We tailor services to your family’s needs.

Is an NCS the same as a postpartum doula?

Not exactly. While both roles support families, an NCS is highly specialized in newborn care, feeding, and sleep shaping. A postpartum doula may provide broader support (meal prep, sibling care, household help, emotional support for the mother), while an NCS is fully dedicated to the newborn.
